# Infrared Capability Introduction

## What is the IR capability?

IR products use IR technologies to control household appliances such as televisions and air conditioners. For example, an IR universal remote control can control STBs, TVs, air conditioners, netboxes, fans, DVDs, and many other devices. Some IR products support remote app control and voice control. The IR capability helps enhance the basic functionality of an IR universal remote control. This capability will be extended to all your product categories.
